About WinSCP
WinSCP is a free, open-source file transfer client for Windows by Martin Přikryl. It copies files between your PC and a remote server using SFTP, SCP, FTP/FTPS, WebDAV or Amazon S3, with a familiar two-panel or Explorer-style interface.
It also has an integrated text editor for remote files, folder synchronisation, scripting and a .NET library for automating transfers, and it works together with PuTTY for terminal sessions.
Best for: Uploading websites and managing files on servers from Windows.

Where these links come from
Versions and download addresses are read automatically from winget (Windows) and Homebrew (macOS), the public package catalogues used by millions of developers. We only show a link when it points to the developer’s own official domain, and we never host, repackage or bundle the files — your browser downloads them directly from the developer.
Check the file after downloading (optional)
Compare the SHA-256 checksum shown above with the one of the file you downloaded. If they match, the file is exactly the one published by the developer.
- Windows: open PowerShell in your Downloads folder and run
Get-FileHash .\filename - Mac: open Terminal and run
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/filename

WinSCP: frequently asked questions
Is this the official WinSCP download?
Yes. The download buttons link directly to the developer’s own servers (sourceforge.net/projects/winscp). DownloadFrom.net does not host, modify or bundle WinSCP; we only list the official files and their SHA-256 checksums so you can verify them.
Which Windows file should I download?
For most PCs, choose the recommended Universal installer, current user only (.exe). Pick an ARM64 file only for Windows on ARM devices (for example Snapdragon laptops), and MSI packages if you deploy software for an organisation. To check your PC, open Settings → System → About and look at “System type”.
Is WinSCP free?
Yes. WinSCP is free and open source (GPL-3.0).
Is WinSCP available for Mac?
No, WinSCP is Windows-only.
Why does the download come from SourceForge?
WinSCP’s official website distributes its installers through its SourceForge project, so that is where the official files are hosted.
