About Node.js (LTS)
Node.js is a free, open-source JavaScript runtime that lets you run JavaScript outside the browser — for web servers, APIs, command-line tools and build tools. It is built on Google’s V8 engine and is a project of the OpenJS Foundation.
The installer includes npm, the package manager for the world’s largest software registry. This page tracks the LTS (Long-Term Support) line, which receives fixes for an extended period and is recommended for most users and production use.
Best for: Web developers and anyone who needs npm-based tools.
System requirements
- Windows: 64-bit (x64), ARM64

Safety
Where these links come from
Versions and download addresses are read automatically from winget (Windows) and Homebrew (macOS), the public package catalogues used by millions of developers. We only show a link when it points to the developer’s own official domain, and we never host, repackage or bundle the files — your browser downloads them directly from the developer.
Check the file after downloading (optional)
Compare the SHA-256 checksum shown above with the one of the file you downloaded. If they match, the file is exactly the one published by the developer.
- Windows: open PowerShell in your Downloads folder and run
Get-FileHash .\filename - Mac: open Terminal and run
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/filename
Help
Node.js (LTS): frequently asked questions
Is this the official Node.js (LTS) download?
Yes. The download buttons link directly to the developer’s own servers (nodejs.org). DownloadFrom.net does not host, modify or bundle Node.js (LTS); we only list the official files and their SHA-256 checksums so you can verify them.
Which Windows file should I download?
For most PCs, choose the recommended 64-bit MSI installer (.msi). Pick an ARM64 file only for Windows on ARM devices (for example Snapdragon laptops), and MSI packages if you deploy software for an organisation. To check your PC, open Settings → System → About and look at “System type”.
LTS or Current — which should I choose?
LTS is recommended for most users because it is supported longer. “Current” has the newest features but a shorter support period.
Is npm included?
Yes. The official Node.js installer installs npm automatically.
Is Node.js free?
Yes. Node.js is free and open source under the MIT licence.
