About Everything
Everything, from voidtools, is a tiny search tool for Windows that finds files and folders by name instantly. Instead of slowly scanning your drives like Windows Search, it reads the NTFS file index and shows results as you type — even across millions of files.
It uses very little memory and CPU, updates in real time as files change, and can optionally search file contents, run as a small HTTP or FTP server, and be controlled from the command line.
Best for: Anyone who wastes time waiting for Windows Search to find files.
System requirements
- Windows: 64-bit (x64), 32-bit (x86), ARM64

Safety
Where these links come from
Versions and download addresses are read automatically from winget (Windows) and Homebrew (macOS), the public package catalogues used by millions of developers. We only show a link when it points to the developer’s own official domain, and we never host, repackage or bundle the files — your browser downloads them directly from the developer.
Check the file after downloading (optional)
Compare the SHA-256 checksum shown above with the one of the file you downloaded. If they match, the file is exactly the one published by the developer.
- Windows: open PowerShell in your Downloads folder and run
Get-FileHash .\filename - Mac: open Terminal and run
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/filename
Help
Everything: frequently asked questions
Is this the official Everything download?
Yes. The download buttons link directly to the developer’s own servers (voidtools.com). DownloadFrom.net does not host, modify or bundle Everything; we only list the official files and their SHA-256 checksums so you can verify them.
Which Windows file should I download?
For most PCs, choose the recommended 64-bit installer (.exe). Pick an ARM64 file only for Windows on ARM devices (for example Snapdragon laptops), and MSI packages if you deploy software for an organisation. To check your PC, open Settings → System → About and look at “System type”.
Is Everything free?
Yes. Everything is free to use and is released under the MIT licence.
Does Everything search inside files?
It searches file and folder names by default. Content search is possible with the content: function, but it is slower because file contents are not indexed.
Is Everything available for Mac?
No, Everything is Windows-only because it relies on the NTFS file system index.
