About iTunes
At a glance: iTunes is a media app by Apple Inc.. The latest version is 12.13.12.3 for Windows. Price: Free, with optional paid plans or features. Licence: Proprietary. Official website: apple.com.
iTunes for Windows is Apple’s media app for Windows PCs. On recent versions of Windows, Apple now recommends its separate Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Devices apps from the Microsoft Store — iTunes remains available for managing podcasts and audiobooks, and for PCs that do not meet the requirements of the newer apps.
iTunes can still play and organise your music library, sync and back up iPhones and iPads, and access the iTunes Store. On a Mac, iTunes has been replaced by the built-in Music, TV and Podcasts apps and Finder.
Best for: Windows users who need to back up an iPhone or manage podcasts and audiobooks.
Windows only. On Windows 10/11, Apple recommends the Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Devices apps for music, video and device management.

Safety
Where these links come from
Versions and download addresses are read automatically from winget (Windows) and Homebrew (macOS), the public package catalogues used by millions of developers. We only show a link when it points to the developer’s own official domain, and we never host, repackage or bundle the files — your browser downloads them directly from the developer.
Check the file after downloading (optional)
Compare the SHA-256 checksum shown above with the one of the file you downloaded. If they match, the file is exactly the one published by the developer.
- Windows: open PowerShell in your Downloads folder and run
Get-FileHash .\filename - Mac: open Terminal and run
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/filename
Help
iTunes: frequently asked questions
Is this the official iTunes download?
Yes. The download buttons link directly to the developer’s own servers (secure-appldnld.apple.com). DownloadFrom.net does not host, modify or bundle iTunes; we only list the official files and their SHA-256 checksums so you can verify them.
Which Windows file should I download?
For most PCs, choose the recommended 64-bit installer (.exe). Pick an ARM64 file only for Windows on ARM devices (for example Snapdragon laptops), and MSI packages if you deploy software for an organisation. To check your PC, open Settings → System → About and look at “System type”.
Is iTunes free?
Yes. iTunes is free; purchases in the iTunes Store are paid.
Do I still need iTunes on Windows?
For most people on Windows 10 or 11, the newer Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Devices apps replace it. iTunes is still useful for podcasts, audiobooks and older PCs.
Is there iTunes for Mac?
No. On current macOS versions, iTunes was replaced by the Music, TV and Podcasts apps; iPhone backups are done in Finder.
