About Slack
Slack is a messaging app for teams and communities, organised into channels by project, topic or team. It brings conversations, files, huddles (quick audio/video calls) and integrations with thousands of other tools into one place.
Slack is owned by Salesforce. A free plan is available with limited message history and features; paid plans add unlimited history, longer huddles, more integrations and administration tools.
Best for: Teams that want organised, searchable work chat with lots of integrations.
The free plan limits how much message history you can see. Paid plans remove the limit.

- Windows: 64-bit (x64), ARM64

Safety
Where these links come from
Versions and download addresses are read automatically from winget (Windows) and Homebrew (macOS), the public package catalogues used by millions of developers. We only show a link when it points to the developer’s own official domain, and we never host, repackage or bundle the files — your browser downloads them directly from the developer.
Check the file after downloading (optional)
Compare the SHA-256 checksum shown above with the one of the file you downloaded. If they match, the file is exactly the one published by the developer.
- Windows: open PowerShell in your Downloads folder and run
Get-FileHash .\filename - Mac: open Terminal and run
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/filename
Help
Slack: frequently asked questions
Is this the official Slack download?
Yes. The download buttons link directly to the developer’s own servers (downloads.slack-edge.com). DownloadFrom.net does not host, modify or bundle Slack; we only list the official files and their SHA-256 checksums so you can verify them.
Which Windows file should I download?
For most PCs, choose the recommended 64-bit installer, current user only (.exe). Pick an ARM64 file only for Windows on ARM devices (for example Snapdragon laptops), and MSI packages if you deploy software for an organisation. To check your PC, open Settings → System → About and look at “System type”.
Apple Silicon or Intel — which Mac file do I need?
Open the Apple menu → About This Mac. If it shows “Chip: Apple M…”, download the Apple Silicon version; if it shows “Processor: … Intel”, download the Intel version.
Is Slack free?
Yes, there is a free plan with limited message history and features. Paid plans add more.
Do I need the desktop app?
No — Slack also works in a browser — but the desktop app offers better notifications and huddle performance.
Slack or Microsoft Teams?
Slack is popular for its integrations and simple channels; Teams is often chosen by organisations already using Microsoft 365.
