About Dropbox
Dropbox is a cloud storage service that keeps your files backed up and in sync across computers and phones. The desktop app adds a Dropbox folder to File Explorer or Finder — anything you put in it is synced automatically.
You can share files and folders with links, recover deleted files and earlier versions, and choose to keep files online-only to save disk space. A free Basic plan is available with limited storage; paid plans offer much more.
Best for: Keeping files synced between computers and sharing large files.
System requirements
- Windows: 64-bit (x64), 32-bit (x86), ARM64
- macOS: Apple Silicon, Intel

-

Safety
Where these links come from
Versions and download addresses are read automatically from winget (Windows) and Homebrew (macOS), the public package catalogues used by millions of developers. We only show a link when it points to the developer’s own official domain, and we never host, repackage or bundle the files — your browser downloads them directly from the developer.
Check the file after downloading (optional)
Compare the SHA-256 checksum shown above with the one of the file you downloaded. If they match, the file is exactly the one published by the developer.
- Windows: open PowerShell in your Downloads folder and run
Get-FileHash .\filename - Mac: open Terminal and run
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/filename
Help
Dropbox: frequently asked questions
Is this the official Dropbox download?
Yes. The download buttons link directly to the developer’s own servers (edge.dropboxstatic.com). DownloadFrom.net does not host, modify or bundle Dropbox; we only list the official files and their SHA-256 checksums so you can verify them.
Which Windows file should I download?
For most PCs, choose the recommended 64-bit installer (.exe). Pick an ARM64 file only for Windows on ARM devices (for example Snapdragon laptops), and MSI packages if you deploy software for an organisation. To check your PC, open Settings → System → About and look at “System type”.
Apple Silicon or Intel — which Mac file do I need?
Open the Apple menu → About This Mac. If it shows “Chip: Apple M…”, download the Apple Silicon version; if it shows “Processor: … Intel”, download the Intel version.
Is Dropbox free?
There is a free Basic plan with limited storage. Paid plans add more space and features.
Do I need an account?
Yes. Sign in with a Dropbox account to sync files.
Dropbox or Google Drive?
Both sync files well. Google Drive includes more free storage shared with Gmail and Photos; Dropbox is known for reliable sync and sharing.
