Where these links come from
Versions and download addresses are read automatically from winget (Windows) and Homebrew (macOS), the public package catalogues used by millions of developers. We only show a link when it points to the developer’s own official domain, and we never host, repackage or bundle the files — your browser downloads them directly from the developer.
Check the file after downloading (optional)
Compare the SHA-256 checksum shown above with the one of the file you downloaded. If they match, the file is exactly the one published by the developer.
- Windows: open PowerShell in your Downloads folder and run
Get-FileHash .\filename - Mac: open Terminal and run
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/filename
Help
Blender: frequently asked questions
Is this the official Blender download?
Yes. The download buttons link directly to the developer’s own servers (download.blender.org). DownloadFrom.net does not host, modify or bundle Blender; we only list the official files and their SHA-256 checksums so you can verify them.
Which Windows file should I download?
For most PCs, choose the recommended 64-bit MSI installer (.msi). Pick an ARM64 file only for Windows on ARM devices (for example Snapdragon laptops), and MSI packages if you deploy software for an organisation. To check your PC, open Settings → System → About and look at “System type”.
Apple Silicon or Intel — which Mac file do I need?
Open the Apple menu → About This Mac. If it shows “Chip: Apple M…”, download the Apple Silicon version; if it shows “Processor: … Intel”, download the Intel version.
Is Blender free for commercial use?
Yes. Blender is free and open source (GPL); anything you create with it belongs to you and can be used commercially.
Does Blender need a powerful computer?
Blender runs on most modern computers, but rendering complex scenes is much faster with a dedicated graphics card.
Can Blender edit videos?
Yes. Blender includes a video sequence editor for cutting and combining clips, although dedicated editors such as Kdenlive or Shotcut are simpler for everyday video work.
