Claude is the AI assistant made by Anthropic, and this is its official desktop app for Windows and macOS. Use it to write, analyse documents, brainstorm, code and research, with a focused window that stays out of the way of your other work.
The desktop app can connect to tools and data on your computer through extensions (using the open Model Context Protocol) when you allow it. You sign in with a Claude account; there is a free plan and paid plans with higher usage limits.

Is this the official Claude download?

Which Windows file should I download?
For most PCs, choose the recommended 64-bit installer, current user only (.exe). Pick an ARM64 file only for Windows on ARM devices (for example Snapdragon laptops), and MSI packages if you deploy software for an organisation. To check your PC, open Settings → System → About and look at “System type”.
Is the Claude desktop app free?
